FAQ's:

Q. What is DC Inverter?

Ans: An inverter converts direct current (DC) into alternate current (AC). In air conditioning system, inverters are devices that convert commercial AC electricity into adjustable frequency and voltage. Such devices has AC to DC converters. Inverter can independently change compressor rational speed.

Q. How does Orient DC Inverter works.

Ans. The functioning method of Orient DC Inverter is very different from a standard AC. A standard air-conditioner works with fixed speed compressor whereas Orient DC Inverter works with variable speed compressor. Important differences are as under.

Standard Air-Conditioner Orient Dc Inverter
Fixed speed compressor han an initial torque as high as 30 Amp which is 3-4 times higher than running current. AC with variable compressor (DC Inverter) has no initial torque.
Ambient temperature ranges from -7 to 48 degree Celsius. Ambient temperature ranges from -15 to 53 degree Celsius.
Fixed speed of current flow due to continuous ON/OFF. No initial torque and variable speed compressor consumes energy as low as an ordinary bulb (1.0 ton AC)
EER 2.8 EER 3.3
To get to the desired room temperature it runs on regular compressor function that is fixed speed. Jet Cool function maintains required room temperature much faster and give 22% more cooling.
Alternating current (AC) based product. Direct current (DC) based product.

Q. How does Orient DC Inverter give full money back in one year?

Ans. A standard AC of 1.5 ton with consumption of 1.875 Kw/h electricity on 8 hour usage will use 15 units daily and 450 units
in 30 days. Its consumption costs almost Rs. 8640. Whereas with 60% energy saving Orient DC Inverter Ac amazingly saves up to Rs. 5000 per month. This is how Orient DC Inverter with incredible saving gives you full AC price back in on year.

Q. Due to low voltage all air conditioners trip, how Orient DC Inverter keeps functioning?

Ans. LVO feature of Orient DC Inverter enables it to work on voltage as low as 150v and this is how it gives you air conditioning of full BTUs on low voltage also.

Q. Why is it better to use Orient DC Inverter instead of heater?

Ans. Orient DC Inverter with its all weather function gives extra cooling in summer and comfortable heating in winter. In comparison with the normal electric heater, it saves up to 60% electricity and you also protect yourself with the ill effects of gas heater or burning coal. So, it is better to use Orient DC Inverter instead of heater.

Q. What capacity generator and UPS are needed for a standard AC?

Ans. Standard AC cannot be operated on UPS, generator requirement are as below;

Standard AC Generator Capacity
1.0 Ton 3.5 Kva
1.5 Ton 5.0 Kva
2.0 Ton 6.5 Kva

Q. Can we run Orient DC Inverter on generator or UPS?If yes, then what is the required capacity for 1, 1.5 and 2 ton?

Ans. Unlike standard AC, Orient DC Inverter does not need an initial torque, so you can easily operate it on following UPS/Generator:

--> It is highly recommended to use SINE WAVE output UPS.

Orient DC Inverter Generator Capacity UPS Capacity
1.0 Ton 2.0 Kva 1500 Watts
1.5 Ton 3.0 Kva 2500 Watts
2.0 Ton 4.0 Kva 3500 Watts

Q. Contrary to a standard AC, the compressor of Orient DC Inverter does not stop during operation, doesn’t it affect its life?

Ans. Due to variable speed compressor, the life of Orient DC Inverter is longer. Its continuous working actually gives it a longer life.

Q. Does it give same amount of cooling on generator/UPS and maintain its energy efficiency?

Ans. On suitable capacity generator/UPS it certainly gives its full output.

Q. What is the difference between the air-throw of a standard AC and Orient DC Inverter Heat and Cool?

Ans. The air throw of Orient DC Inverter is far greater than a standard AC. Its extended air throw not only spreads air far and wide but its 4D air-vane system also keeps the cooling evenly spread in all directions.

Q. How should I select the right size inverter?

Ans. There are different things which defines the right size for your AC unit. One of them is room size, following is a rough guideline which can help you to select size for AC unit.

Room Size (Sq.Ft) Room Size (Sq.Mtrs) Cooling Capacity (BTU) Tonnage
450-550 42-51 13000 (BTU) 1 Ton
700-1000 65-93 18000 (BTU) 1.5 Ton
1400-1500 130-139 24000 (BTU) 2 Ton

Q. Which Compressor Orient is Using?

Ans. Orient AC are having Toshiba compressors.

Q. Is it worth paying more for an inverter air conditioning?

Ans. Inverter air conditioning can reduce your energy bill. It will be worth paying more for an inverter air conditioning if you use your air conditioning for;

  • All year round

  • Use for heating

  • Use for cooling

Q. What does H&C stand for?

Ans. H&C stands for Heat and Cool.

Q. What is SEER and ton?

Ans. SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) is a measurement of a unit's efficiency, and ton is a measurement of a unit's size.

Q. How often should I have maintenance done on my air conditioner?

Ans. You should have maintenance done on your air conditioning system at least once a year.

Q. What is different between Orient and other Inverters?

Ans. Many things which make it different from other brands i.e.

  • Bigger Indoor Unit (1.1 Meter)

  • Bigger Outdoor Unit

  • Full Copper wiring

  • Full BTUs

Q. What is the operating temperature range standard for the unit?

Ans. The maximum temperature range for unit operation is:
--> -15 to 53 Degree Celsius

Difference

Standard Air-Conditioner Orient DC Inverter Air-Conditioner
A standard AC comes with fixed speed compressor with an initial torque as high as 30 Amp which is 3-4 times higher than running current. It has a variable speed compressor that does not need initial torque.
It happens again and again because its compressor turns ON & OFF many times. Compressor life is longer due to its variable speed, its continuous running enhances its life.
Ambient temperature limit reaches as high as 48 degree Celsius. Enhanced ambient temperature limit reaches as high as 53 degree Celsius.
To get to the desired room temperature it runs on regular compressor function that is fixed speed. Jet Cool function maintains required room temperature much faster and give 22% more cooling.
That’s why its energy efficiency ratio is very low, only 2.8. Its energy efficiency ratio is as high as 3.3.
Its electricity bills gets more unbearable than the summer heat. When Orient DC Inverter AC of 1.0 ton reaches the desired temperature its rated current need gets down to only 0.8 Amp.
It can also run on low capacity generator and UPS.
On suitable capacity generator/UPS the AC gives equally good cooling.
  • Orient DC Inverter checks the room temperature when switched on. After checking the temperature it starts Jet Cool function and instantly reaches the desired room temperature.

  • After reaching the desired room temperature the electricity consumption of Orient DC Inverter decreases and electricity flow shows down.

  • For an average period the electricity consumption of Orient DC Inverter will be low.
